spheropack.analysis.density_profile(packing, axis=-1, bins=200)

Local volume (area) fraction as a function of position along axis.

Spheres are sliced exactly, so the profile integrates to the overall density and shows the layering next to flat walls. The porosity profile is 1 - phi.

Returns:

• z – Bin centres along the axis.

• phi – Solid fraction in each bin.
