One stencil cell's PLIC polygon in the PV fit: the parameters of pvFitTerm and pvFitAdd.
| mx,my,mz,alpha | the cell's PLIC plane in ITS OWN unit-cell coordinates (plic.hpp). |
| off | the cell's integer index offset from the target cell. |
| org | the fit's origin (the target cell's PLIC centroid) in target-centred cell units. |
| t1,t2,nn | the orthonormal frame; nn is the target's unit PLIC normal. |
| dW | Wendland support width in cell units. |
| cosMin | reject a polygon whose own normal makes an angle with nn whose cosine is below this. The projection onto the (x',y') plane degenerates as that cosine goes to zero (the plane's ‘z’ = b0 + b1 x' + b2 y'form blows up while its projected area vanishes), and a back-facing polygon would be integrated with the wrong sign ofz'. Jibben's area projection A (n.n_p)` decays to zero over the same range; this is the explicit version of the same guard. |
pvFitAdd is the composition of pvFitTerm (the per-polygon map) and pvFitAccum (the += into the normal equations), bitwise (tests/test_vof_pvfit.cpp). The split lets a device fallback evaluate the stencil's terms in parallel and still accumulate them in the canonical order (flow doc/vof_step_performance_design.md §4.7, §5.11).
